When my brother asked me why I wanted to teach yoga I replied that the regular practice of yoga had given me a better life and I wanted to share that with others, it really was that simple. What I hadn’t been aware of before starting yoga was that I already had a better life. Everything really was ok. My own yoga practice has helped me appreciate the life I have been blessed with and come to see the world in a much more positive light.
I have come to yoga from a non sporty background and started out not being able to touch my toes, that’s why I believe yoga is suitable for everyone.
About the yoga:
I teach a mixture of vinyasa flow and more general hatha yoga. In each class we work through a series of standing and seated poses. All of the classes at Better Life YOGA attempt to coordinate breathing and physical movement, improve focus and concentration, and help participants regain control of their body and mind. There are always modifications for people who need them and I actively encourage the use of blocks and ties as I certainly appreciate their support in my own practice. Each class ends with a short relaxation and I hope you will leave my classes just a bit calmer and ‘lighter’ than you did coming into class.
